The route of the BIKE - and TOUR Transalp 2018

Registrations are possibile from now on for the TOUR and BIKE TRANSALP, 2018 edition: the route has been announce spectacularly !

BIKE TRANSALP 2018:

The 21st edition of the world's premier mountain bike stage race for teams of two kicks of in Imst, Austria on July 15th and finishes in Arco, Italy seven days later on July 21st. In total, the participants of this prestigious classic – including international pros as well as hundredths of amateurs alike – will have to pedal a total of 503.54 kilometres and master 18,004 metres of climbing while crossing the main ridge of the Alps. During the one week trip through the Massive Central the field will stop in Nauders, Livigno, Bormio, Ponte di Legno, Val di Sole as well as Valle del Chiese. And like in the previous years, Race Organisers have again put together a package of famous passages and brand new single tracks which has no equal.. A very special route, which will lead the participants high and deep into the mighty mountains between Ortler and Adamello group. The mountains and the passes are huge. The valleys form striking cuts into the world of the almost 4,000-meter high glacier giants. Old smuggler trails, rarely-used alpine paths or pass-roads soaked with panoramic views, such as the narrow asphalt track over the Gavia Pass at 2,621 meters, once again show the impressive and unique route of the BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma.

TOUR TRANSALP 2018:

It's the first time in history that the prestigious event doesn't kick off in Germany or Austria. The 16th edition of the spectacular cycling classic for teams of two will start in Italy. From Brixen on, participants will cover a total distance of 819.19 km and master 17,739 metres of climbing riding through the concentrated beauty of South and East Tyrol, the Dolomites and along the southern flanks of the Alps to their final destination at Lake Garda. On their way to Riva del Garda they will stop over in the stage towns of St. Vigil, Sillian, Fiera di Primiero, Crespano del Grappa, Trento and Kaltern while crossing a total of 18 mountain passes. Besides Passo Gardena right on the opening day of the TOUR Transalp, Passo Furcia, Passo Giau, Mount Grappa and the interesting Valico di Valbona are also part of next year's highlights.
