A lot of news at the 4° Kufsteinerland Radmarathon
From 6th to 8th of September 2019, the fortified town of Kufstein (Tyrol. Austria) will be the right address for cycling fans. The sporting weekend will start on Friday with the Festungsstadtsprint. On Sunday the highlight - the Kufsteinerland Radmarathon - will take place. In addition to a new, third track, the 4th edition of the Everyman's Race will also offer a live broadcast for the first time.
Those who want to really savour the late summer in terms of cycling from 6 to 8 September 2019 will find in Kufstein a multi-faceted programme. The highlight will be the Cycling Marathon on Sunday, where the participants can choose for the first time between three routes. In addition to a varied side programme consisting of a bike expo, a bike challenge, a pump track and a bouncy castle for children, visitors can look forward to a large live stream in the finish area. For all those who cannot be there themselves, the organisers are offering for the first time a live broadcast on www.alpentour.tv as well as on all TV sets that receive Alpentour TV.
Everyman competition with top athletes
In addition to the attractive and conditionally demanding route, the Kufsteinerland Radmarathon is distinguished by its wide range of participants. Ambitious amateur athletes fight alongside professionals for victory. With the Austrian cyclist Patric Grüner from the Ötztal valley, an extreme specilaist, and athletes of the "Team corratec" there will be absolute top riders at the start of this year's edition. The most important track has a length of 124 km and approx. 1,900 meters of climbing. Those who prefer a more relaxed approach, can choose the "Panoramarunde" a shorter distance with over 47.5 km and 400 m of climbing along the Inn valley or decide in favour of the new lake circuit (Seenrunde) with 99 km and 1,400 m of climbing. The start and finish area for all competitions is at the central square, the Oberen Stadtplatz in Kufstein. In the Kultur Quartier, the hungry returnees of the cycling marathon can expect a pasta party from 11 a.m. onwards.
Festungsstadtsprint on Friday
The cycling weekend will kick off with a 1 kilometre sprint race on Friday at 7:30 p.m., which guarantees the participants a lot of fun. From Fischergries, the route leads through the city centre in narrow serpentines to the fortress. The challenge is not to pedal for the best time, but to get as close as possible to the average time. It's up to you on which vehicle you start the race - on a road bike or an e-bike, a MTB and nostalgic bike there are no limits to your creativity. In addition, there will be a workshop on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., where visitors will have the chance to learn the basics of bicycle repair free of charge.
