Test the new e-bikes in the SHIMANO E-MOUNTAINBIKE Experience in South Tyrol

In Europe, more than one million electric bikes were bought in 2016 and it’s already clear that 2018 is going to smash this figure. We think it’s pretty obvious then, that e-bikes are becoming increasingly popular. A good occasion to test difefrent brands of e-bikes is partecipating in a new event in Northern Italy.

Explore South Tyrol on an e-mountainbike! Is there any better – and more adventurous – way to cross the Alps than by bike? Four locations, great trails, new experiences and a new event combining cycling, alpine experiences, fine food and good company – that was the name of the game at the SHIMANO E — MOUNTAINBIKE Experience. Participants could hire a new e-mountainbike with a different type of motor each day and test it out on some of South Tyrol’s best trails. The event was supported by bike partners Cannondale, Scott, Ghost, Bulls, Haibike, Merida, Centurion, Focus and Giant. For the host villages the SHIMANO E — MOUNTAINBIKE Experience was also a brand new adventure. The friendly locals welcomed riders with a broad smile and served up a delicious range of local dishes for them to refuel after a long day out on the trails.

The second edition of the SHIMANO E — MOUNTAINBIKE Experience from May, 29th to June, 2nd, 2018 offers riders of all ages and abilities a memorable two-wheeled adventure in the beautiful mountains of South Tyrol (northern Italy). This brand new event made up of four stages takes participants from Naturns/Naturno via Meran/Merano, Brixen/Bressanone and Bruneck/Brunico to Sexten/Sesto, traversing South Tyrol and combining the joy of cycling with fabulous scenery, fine food and outstanding cultural highlights. Thanks to the support of our bike partners, riders can try out a different e-bike each day as they discover the most beautiful trails in South Tyrol. There will also be plenty of side events in the villages as well as a special event each evening.

At the SHIMANO E – Mountainbike Experience participants can choose between the 3-Star Package and the 4-Star Package (more). Each is available for couples and individuals. Accommodation is provided by our selected partner hotels in the category booked. For each stage there will be three ability groups to ensure that everybody can take part and enjoy the experience. You will be asked to enter your ability level when you book. After the first stage it is possible to change to a different group if you think you are in the wrong group. Each group will be accompanied by at least two experienced bike guides. For families we offer a special combination of cycling and childcare. While parents enjoy riding through the beautiful landscape of South Tyrol, our team of childcare experts will look after their children and keep them entertained with a fun programme of activities. This means that everyone will have a great day. In the afternoon children will be reunited with their parents. We will do our best to ensure that families are provided with child-friendly accommodation.
