Half the entries for the 10th anniversary edition of the prestigious Transpyr Coast to Coast have already been sold

With 8 months remaining before the start, the race continues to innovate and offers new formulas for completing the mission of crossing the Pyrenees

With still 8 months left before the launch of Transpyr Coast to Coast 2019, more than 200 cyclists from all over the world have already registered to take part in the prestigious race. That is over half the places the organisers have put on sale for the 10th edition of the challenge of traversing the Pyrenees in 7 stages, from Roses (Girona) to Hondarribia (Gipuzkoa), which will take place from 9-15 June.

An established fixture on the international scene and ranked one of the world’s top ten MTB adventures by National Geographic, Transpyr Coast to Coast is now celebrating a decade astonishing riders from all over the planet, ever loyal to its innovative spirit. From the beginning, the mission of crossing the Pyrenees in seven days has been the main objective of the thousands of cyclists who have taken up the challenge thus far. The ways of doing so, however, have steadily increased to adapt the race to the participants’ interests. As a result, the organisers have devised new means to complete this mission for an increasing number of cyclists from around the world.

The MTB version is the most famous and iconic way to complete this sea-to-sea mission. After the positive results of the first two editions, Transpyr Gran Raid MTB has consolidated its innovative format with liaison and timed stretches. It is a concept that lets racers enjoy the Pyrenees’ dynamic scenery and the international company of the field without missing out on the excitement and intensity of stage competition.

And lest we forget the race’s road bike equivalent, TRANSPYR Backroads, for those who prefer to cross the Pyrenees’ extraordinary southern race down peaceful, deserted secondary roads. This event, which in 2019 will celebrate its 7th edition, is, without doubt, one of the most highly esteemed among true road cyclists. TRANSPYR Backroads is a journey through the heart of the Pyrenees that offers a breathtaking route along winding roads and enables cyclists to enjoy the changing and indomitable charm of the Pyrenees from a different perspective.

Participants also have the chance to take part in the E-Transpyr C2C, created for trailblazers looking to discover this unforgettable adventure and exclusive route on an electric bike.

Another way to complete the mission is the so-called C2C Relay category. It was designed for those losing to share this unforgettable experience in a more relaxed manner, as part of two- or four-person relay teams, each of which complete half the stage, before their teammates take over after the second drink station of each stage.

What makes TRANSPYR COAST TO COAST unique?

Transpyr Coast to Coast is, first and foremost, a mission.
