With your bike on the Via Claudia Augusta path

A thrilling and amazing journey in time. GERMANY TO ITALY. 2000 years of roman history to be relived on the Via Claudia Augusta, the ancient Roman road linking the Danube river to the Po and the Adriatic. Over 700 km of cycling through fairytale castles, masterpieces of art and architecture. It is a symbolic route that spans three nations, each with its own diverse landscape and traditions, artistic treasures and culinary specialities, marked by a more approachable, youthful and ecologically sustainable tourism.

The Via Claudia Augusta enables cyclists to experience a unique and stunning crossing of the Alps. It´s a great opportunity to explore and get acquainted with the natural beauty of the countryside and the varieties along the entire route. After the start in Augsburg you ride along the flat Lechfeld towards the massive Alpine range, then ou cross impressive Tyrolean mountain passes (Fernpass and Reschenpass) and follow the flow of the Etsch river to South Tyrol’s capital Bolzano / Bozen – the portal to the Mediterranean.
