AUGUSTOUR: river cycling from Passo Resia to Trento

The AUGUSTOUR (awarded with the "Italian Green Road Award" 2015) is a 3-stage cycling event that starts in the South Tyrol region (Northern Italy), crosses Trentino and ends in the city of Verona. From May, 20th to 22nd, 2022 all participants will ride in a guided group along a part of the Via Claudia Augusta, the ancient Roman street, taking advantage of a series of services so that in the foreground there is only fun and pleasure of cycling.

Starting from the Passo Resia, in South Tyrol, northern Italy near to boarder to Austria, the AUGUSTOUR will run along the beautiful Adige river to Merano first, then to Bolzano city and finally, after 3 days, to the city of Trento. Every day the participants will ride in a guided group being able to take advantage of severfal services, all included in a convenient package. At each stop, in addition to refreshment points with gastronomic snacks and goodies based on local products and a wine tasting in a local winery, there will be some VERY SPECIAL cultural stops. In collaboration with the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano), volunteers will accompany cyclists to discover castles (so the Castel d´Avio) and palaces located along the route of the AUGUSTOUR. There will also be a short stop in the centre of Trento to admire the beautiful square and its Cathedral.  

The aim is to show cycling, trekking and e-bike enthusiasts the beauty of nature and to make the territory known along this "Italian" stretch of the Via Claudia Augusta. During the three days of the AUGUSTOUR the participants will cover a total of 207 km and will ride in a unique landscape accompanied by vineyards, castles and mountains.

To participate in the AUGUSTOUR you can register online on the trilingual website https://www.augustour.it by booking the "All-Inclusive" package that contains many useful services: Participation 3 stages in the guided group; 3 nights in a hotel  / hostel (1x in Curon, in Merano and in Bolzano); we visit a castle or pallazzo, a historic building with the guides of FAI; included are refreshments, daily transport of luggage, an "Aperitivo lungo" in Bolzano and a visit to a wine cellar.

In short, a complete offer to spend a holiday without any worries. If you want, you can also take advantage of a bike rental managed by one of our partners and book the convenient bus transfer that, at the end of the 3 stages, takes you back from Verona to Bolzano.
